That sounds a lot like the high 4 kit from stylin concepts. I like that mod, im thinking about doing it to my truck too. Was the wiring easy to do?Forums : Tips & Tricks : High beams on with low beams (11651 Views)

Yeah, this has been talked about several times here on CTW.After I had already bought the $17.00 relay from stylin concepts, I read how guys on here were picking up the same .99 cent relay from radio shack, and doing the same thing. I guess I paid $16.00 for a set of instructions and shipping!

You can pick up the relay at any auto parts for about $4 it's in the driving light section.December 5, 2004
I wouldn't buy those kits, it's too cheap and easy to do without them. I didn't have a problem with the low beams being too dim. Everything works fine. I need to get a pict up because it really makes a big difference. It should be done from the factory. My friend has a 99' Silverado and he has a different set-up than the newer trucks. He has one reley under the hood where I have one for the low beams and one for the high beams and all you have to do is bridge the two releys with the diode. With the older style trucks you would have to add a reley and do alittle wiring but it's real easy and there is a diagram on here from 88gmc I believe, from Washington y'all know who I'm talking about, right? He did a great job with the wiring diagram for the older trucks.

I bought a kit from mrtaillight.com. I paid 14 bucks for it.December 6, 2004
I also wired it the home grown way and have been loving it ever since...... I'm sure the sorry suckers that don't dim their lights for me love them too!! As I give them a little flash!! Seems like they shut theirs off pretty quick then.

Does the relay let power go from brights to dim to let all for light up when on brights but won't let power run from dim to brights so they all don't light when on dim? Thats probably a dumb question but I don't understand how it works. If it helps I have a 2001 chevy silverado.January 29, 2005
I was lazy............lol. I bought mine from KC highlights.......lol. Very easy to install.Rob

Yes Jaren, The power from the high beams throws the relay. When it does it takes the power from your battery to light the lows. Theres a schematic around here somewhere, I'll see if I can find it for you.February 3, 2005
