October 31, 2004I'm new to the site and all, even though I have been a member for over 2 months. I had my mind on a lot lately and haven't really had time to post anything. But anyway, I decided to share some good news. I a few months I will be the proud owner of a 1999 Silverado 1500 4x4 5.3 V8 extended cab short box with less than 27000 miles. My dad decided I should have it since I got my license. I hope this starts a tradition. My dad will give it to his son (me) and I will hopefully have the opportunity to pass it on to a son of my own.
Also, does anybody totally live Chevy trucks? I’m not interested in any other type of vehicle. All of my friends at OGHS think I’m crazy because I don’t like Honda Civics, Mitsubishis or any of those little tuner cars. Just compare practicality. You can’t lift a Civic, or tow quads with an eclipse, or put bull horns on a lancer. Besides chicks dig trucks because allthe tuner guys don’t seem to have girlfriends.
I also get into the Chevy versus !!FOUND ON ROAD DEAD!! debate.
I literally loathe fords. They just don’t last! I live near a horse racing trainer and he has a GMC, other stable owners have Duramax 3500's or 2500HD's. Not too many fords down there. Virtually no dodges. You can’t get a Duramax or Allison 1000 on a ford. Can’t get a big block that will last either. My uncle had an F-150 that got plowed by a semi. No kidding, luckily he wasn’t in it, it was parked. But before it got plowed it was a work truck. It couldn’t haul or tow anything. He bought a 1995 Chevy W/T after that and has piled up 200k's on the odometer and has had no major problems.
Well enough rants for one day. Thanks again to all the guys who replied to my Duramax post and I hope to make some new Chevy friends on the
