Had the same problem with mine too. In the engine compartment does your truck have a small, orange plastic box with a hinged door that has a thick black wire coming out of the top? The Silverado has it right next to the alternator, and it's for attaching the + cable to when you want to jump start someone. Inside is a large nut/bolt that you attach the jumper cable to. It's a direct feed from the alternator, so it's isolated from the rest of the electrical system -- great source for power.
What I did was enlarge the current hole in the top of the box. Then I ran my foglight wire from the relay around the fender, against the firewall and then back up front to the box. I cut off the small factory O ring on the wiring harness and crimped on a larger one that was the size of the bolt (with about a 2-3 foot length of additional wire, because the + lead off the foglight relay wasn't long enough). I removed the nut, slipped the new O ring onto the bolt, replaced the nut and ran the wire out the top, right thru the larger hole I had made.
Damn, I really
need to get a digicam -- this took me more time to type then it would have to just snap a couple of pics...
