March 3, 2003i got in an accident last april, and its just minor, but the plastic under the front bumper is dented, and i was just wondering if that can be fixed with a good old hammer. thanks
March 3, 2003sure it could, but i would recommend fiberglass or bondo! it should be easy if you get paint to match it, especially since it is in a kind of concealed location. you'll need to sand the area well, make sure the edge is soft though... and put the bondo on, then the primer over that, once again try and make a smooth edge and even coats... then put the paint over that... you can put clear over that if you want, but being under the bumper it might not be worth the trouble
March 4, 2003If your talking about the air dam, you can purchase a new one from your GM dealer for under a $100.00, if not talking about the air dam then yes get some estimates at the local body shops!

March 7, 2003Chances are if it is not dented too bad, you can take a heat gun and by warming the part it may return to its original shape. Try it, it really works!!!
March 9, 2003thanks for the help, i took my dad's rubber mallet and banged it out, hopefully it stays out. now the only way you can tell i got in an accident is the license plate. does anyone know if its legal to take the front plate off in california?
