January 26, 2013My fan blower motor is going out in my 93. It sometimes makes squeeling noises and I have to either turn the fan speed to low and back to high or hit the plastic housing by the passenger feet area to get it to stop making noises. It was doing the same thing about 4 years ago and I had it fixed at a shop that is no longer in business. So my question is....is it usually the motor(bearings) that go bad or is it the fan(squirrel cage) itself, or is the fan and motor together? Is there an easy way to change this out like say cut away the housing and fabricate a way to bolt it back together or do you have to take everthing apart? Is it normal for these to go out every 4 years or so?? Thanks.
