July 19, 201210 months ago I located and purchased "the one that got away ".....or shoulda never sold. Actually, its not THE truck but very similar. I wanted an all original, low mileage OBS Z71. I bought a 1997 Z71 with 100k original miles, sold be the original owner. At the time if the sake, he was honest and told be that he never changed or flushed the transmission fluid. Everyone I talk to has a different opinion as to rather or not I should do it now. It shifts fine and the fluid looks good to me, though I am not a tranny expert. Some have said leave it alone and "roll it until it busts " and others think this is a great time to change it. I`m well aware of the theory of an old transmission needing the old fluid to bind up, but I was looking for some input from you guys. I`m torn, its only 100k miles but its also15 years old. Thanks for the help!
