November 15, 2011Okay so i have a battery in a spare vehicle that is only 2 years old and i still have a warranty on the battery so i am looking for a way to kill it dead so i can get a new battery free under warranty. The battery is weak and has been run down dead twice but it still comes up as a good battery so the store will not give me a new one. Any ideas on how to kill it so it will come up as a bad battery?

November 15, 2011Drain the charge from the battery and let it spend a month in the freezer.
November 22, 2011Poke a small hole in one or two of the cells and let everything drain out which will cause it not to hold a charge and come up as a bad battery for sure.

June 25, 2012Due to the recent floods amongst other things, I´d not used my car for a week. When I did come to use it, the battery appears to be completely flat, no dashboard lights or anything. Although the car is very reliable, and I`ve never had any starting problems before, the battery is the one originally fitted to the car nine years ago. Does this sound like the battery is just past it, or could it be something else??
