September 3, 2011Hey everyone, how are you today? I`ve been working my my buddies 2004 Colorado pickup. He was have an issue with his drivers side power window, so I replaced the motor and regulator. Pretty easy switch, however after I installed it I lowered the window all the way down; it went very smooth but once the auto down hit the bottom it would not allow me to re-raise the window, it actually became stuck. So I removed the entire assemble and there is a manual over ride screw on the gearing, I turned that a few turns and it freed the entire system up. I put power to it and it worked great up and down however once I lowered it all the way to the bottom the gearing binded again.
My question is, weather or not anyone knows if there are any adjustments or stops on the regulator or in the door to prevent the window from continuing too far down? It may just be a bad part but I wanted to get your opinions before trying to return it to the dealership. Thanks for any suggestion and your help.
