August 6, 2011So I was following a Silverado the other day and his tail lights, when applied, would blink (flutter) around 4-5 times and then go solid. Do yall have any idea what this is called or what it is?
August 6, 2011you sure he wasn`t pumping the brakes for some strange reason? other than that maybe it`s a loose wire or something along those lines.
August 7, 2011I`m sure.. and it was definitely aftermarket
August 7, 2011You can buy those for motorcycles, never seen them on a truck though. Id start searching by googling "brake light flasher" and go from there.
August 7, 2011yeah, i`ve seen `em on a few rigs around here. so it`s definitely something you can pick up. probably just something you wire inline with your brake wires. but IDK...
August 7, 2011I`ve seen em here too on motorcycles, and if I`m not mistaken on some Border Patrol trucks. You could probably find them as an aftermarket addon on some websites.
August 7, 2011ah! i totally misunderstood your post. i thought it was some sort of issue, not something intentional. sorry about that.
August 8, 2011Well, here you go. i just did a quick google shopping search for brake light flasher, and this one was the first to come up. On amazon for 13.99. you`ll need one per light that you want to convert. or if you wire it up before the individual brake light wires split, you can get away with one i bet. anyhow, here is the link
August 8, 2011Thanks! I remember his brakes flashing a little faster than that, but its the same concept. He`s was also LED, I wish I could have gotten video
August 9, 2011Yeah, i`ve seen them around here too. And i am sure there are a lot of different brands and manufacturers out there that make kits for this. so if you look around you can probably find one that flashes quicker. If you really look, you might be able to find some LED bulbs that do the flash, i know i have seen them for my motor where it is just the bulb, with a circuit board in the bulb that tells it to do the flashing. but i think those are closer to 30 or 40 bucks. so something like this could be a cheaper way to get the same affect.
