April 13, 2011Ok, so i put HID headlights in my 94 suburban. They work fine. No flockering or anything. But i did notice an odd symptom inside the cab. When i turn the parking lights on, sometimes they dont come on unless i wiggle the switch. And when i push the headlit switch, i hear a faint zap. Almost like a static shock. Also, when i push the headlight switch, the climate control display glitches. And if i flip the lights pn and off rapidly a few times, the climate control wil reset to default postition (like after you unplug the battery for a bit). And the odd thing with the park light thing is, if i flip both switches at the same time, someties the headlights will come on, but not the park lights. At first i thoughht it was a bad ground, and the ground current was backfeeding through other devices. So i added an extra ground lead to the HID ballast. Still the same problem.... Whats going on???

April 13, 2011Sounds like the switch is going bad to me... the zap, is it from the switch area?

April 13, 2011Yeah... So bad switch would cause the climate control glitch too?
April 13, 2011i would bet that the light switch would be causing the glitch because the climate control display is also controled by the light switch
April 11, 2012Hid offroad lights are too expensive, so I was thinking. What if I bought some regular ones and added a hid kit? Do regular offroad lights accept the style of bulb hid kits offer? I never looked to see the plug type but I`d imagine offroad light bulbs would be replaceable.
