February 19, 2011anything is better that the tame tune they come with. thats for sure. but a traditional tune runs around two hundred. the auto tune is if you are doing heavy mod alot and want to tweek things. but its all good if you can get e tuner for 50 bucks do it.my uncle has a hypertech and loves it. i had a bullydog triple and love it. its that damn torque management that sucks.....they bully dog could not deal with it. i bought before i knew what that was.

October 4, 2011The custom tunes seen to be great for our trucks but for those that plan on doing some serious modes, programmers can be good as long as you find the right one. I went with bullydog and im very happy with it. It has an 87 octane tune and 91 octane performance tune. You also have the ability to view up to 4 parameters on the fly and change then anytime. It also reads and clears trouble codes. The drivers coach is displayed and helps you drive more efficiently. It grades you from A-F on your driving and alerts you when your wasting fuel and getting the best gas milege. I have a 2009 Sierra 1500 with the 5.3 liter engine and active fuel management meaning it uses 4 cylinders at cruising speed and 8 when your on the gas. From the factory this truck averaged 18-22 mpg highway, after the bullydog tune I have seen as much as 23-24 mpg highway with the cruise set at 65 mph. Plus once you buy it you will never have to buy another programmer if they make changes later. You just go to the website and download the new tune, it`s that simple. The bullydog also programs about 15 other cars and trucks, When I bought my truck I put the stock program back in the car and programmed my new truck right at the dealership. If you plan on changing cams, installing headers, supercharger ext I would go with the custom to because you will get the most out of your mods. Hope this helps some?
