January 3, 2011Anyone have a programmer to recalibrate the speedo? Mine is around 8 or so mph off with the 35s. Kind of a pain in the butt, especially when a cop is behind you!

January 4, 2011You wouldn`t be able to share someone elses programmer to recal your speedo and trans.
Does the truck have stock gears? Obviously the tire size needs updated, and afterwards should improve shift performance, speedo, mpg, and mileage. All of those things would be off if it was never reprogrammed.
Hate to say it, but you`ll either need your own handheld programmer or a custom tune to correct it.
January 4, 2011Yeah great, I can hear my wife now when I tell her I need a programmer for several hundred dollars!
My gears are still stock.
January 4, 2011Maybe you can strike a deal with Wheatley or Blackbear for programming the PCM for the 35" tires for cheap since thats all you need.
And tell the wife to get in line, the truck comes first..
When you pick yourself back up tell her it`s throwing the speedo and other things off not having the correct tire size programmed, and it will get you better mileage
January 4, 2011I tried to rationalize with her about the programmer--improved mileage, no speeding ticket, etc. But all I get is "you had to buy a *&^%*$ lifted truck!!!"
January 4, 2011I get that sometimes too, i built a lifted truck. So i get it worse... "you had to build a lifted truck, it was fine the way it was before" Mine has been off for years, i drive slow anyway.
January 4, 2011I think you could get the speedo programmed for cheap if you just ask either of the tuners.
Oh and tell your wife, you could have been golfer, that cost way more...
January 4, 2011I`ve been running for years without re-programming, there are ways around it... I used to use a cheap hunting GPS unit I had as a speedometer, later when I bought a GPS Navigation Unit I just used the speedometer reading on it... Now I have a Droid X with a windshield mount, and I downloaded an app that give me speed, GPS coordinates, elevation, tilt, incline, G-forces, etc. Pretty cool...
