September 18, 2010Hey Guys need a little help. I am deployed to Iraq(stationed at FT. Riley KS) and its very difficult to get some websites to come up with the crappy internet we have. Anyway, I cant seem to come up with any locations for most of the notable custom tuners. I am looking for one that will be close to either FT. Riley Kansas or Houston TX. I have been reading the crap out of the boards(via search)and can tell that Charlie(Wheatly) is just up the road from my folks house in Houston and I will take a trip home as soon as I return. This would be great except I have e-mailed him via CTW and no response, its ok for now as I still have some time and Im sure he gets busy. Just in case though, is there any other reputable tuners close to either of my locations...Nelson, Blackbear,Westers etc, etc?? I am really leaning toward a Wheatly tune but we`ll see. One more thing, anybody know anything about Trifecta performance tuning? Thanks in advance

September 18, 2010Thanks but as I wrote before I cant get these websites to come up on my crappy internet here. Thats why I was hoping some one could tell me where they are located or maybe even give me some e-mail addresses or phone #s. I would rather go with a Wheatley tune I think, especially with him being close to my folks, but I have not gotten a response from him yet. I e-mailed him via CTW, maybe there is another way to contact him...? No way I am going back to a hand held when a custom tune is an option. So any other info would help alot guys.
GRIFF its my pleasure, I am in aviation(Blackhawks)and I love what I do. 7 more years and I can retire, WOOHOO!!
September 19, 2010^^ Good to hear! as for location wise I vote Wheatley because he`s close to you, and I have his tune on my 01 and its great.
ps. Try emailing him not through CTW but through this one, firstname.lastname@example.org. Thats how I was able to be in contact with him.

Recently relocated to California I believe, so no address for right now that I can find on the website.
They also do alot of traveling to customers for group tunes, so when you get back, before to check calender events to see if he`s coming close to you at some point because an in person tune would be the best.
September 19, 2010Thanks so much for the info guys, that helps alot. Man, now I really cant wait to throw on a tune with my Corsa, Volant and Dynatech parts. And 4.56 gears. Really hoping to break the 300 pony mark at the wheels, do you think thats possible??
September 19, 2010Hey Stevens07, I thought I read in another thread during my search that you had a Wait4Me tune(or something like that). Did you change tuners, if so can you say why and who you went with.
September 20, 2010I went with the BB tune and it is one of the best mods I have done. Night and day difference and I only got the 89 octane tune.

I used W4M on my last truck, but had the opportunity to use Blackbear on my 07 Vmax in person. It was nothing short of awesome and will use him again on my new 2011. I had no problems with W4M all though others have had issues.
If you do get a custom tune, I`d suggest getting the 93 tune, you can still run 89 without a problem but if you want the extra power, then run 93 octane. Works well for me.
September 20, 2010Good tip, I didnt know that, thanks. I have been debating on tuning for which octane but I didnt want to get stuck using just one octane forever. If I can still run 89 on a 93 octane tune without causing any problems then thats a no brainer. I`ll just tune for 93 and switch between 89 and 93 when I need too. Thats pretty much what your talking about right?
