July 6, 2010Doing a body lift and stuff just to make the tires fit, you still have the gearing issues. I don`t mind that this is a long term project. I get lots of time to plan and do it right. Its nice that the wife is on board now that she has a new vehicle.
July 7, 2010i still plan on buying a 6 suspension lift. i just have to check the local laws on bumper measurements. plus i gotta get the gears done and as far as lifting it to fit bigger tires thats what just about everyone does. i doubt that there is many people that need them big tires and lift kits.
July 7, 2010That is probably true. All I am saying is that I don`t want to just stuff the tires in there. I have a good friend that is doing just that on his truck because he can`t find the right lift for it.
July 7, 20105" blocks??? i thought a leveling kit only lifted the front 2"? did you have to crank the hell outta the torsion bars or what? not to mention they start off about 2" lower in the front to begin with....
July 7, 2010the reason i said about doing it on a budget is because u said bigger tires would pinch your wallet. just trying to help u out so u could afford bigger tires.
July 7, 2010By "on a budget", I simply meant I can`t just buy whatever I want, whenever. Have to budget the $. That is why I started this particular conversation. And, after seeing the trucks with 33`s, I may just stick with that size for awhile. Thanks again everyone.
July 7, 2010z71 maniac the reason i said a 5 inch block is because if u buy a 5 inch block you can take out the stock block and raise it about 3 inches in the rear unless u double stack the blocks then that would give u an actual 5 inches of lift in the rear but i don`t recommend double stacking blocks.
July 7, 2010gotcha, that makes more sense.
July 8, 2010The newer trucks have blocks from the factory?
July 8, 2010yup, some remove them for the "CALI LEAN"
