April 20, 2010ive got a 96 c1500 with a 305, and im having trouble getting it to start when the truck sits for a while or over night. if i shoot it with a little starting fluid it fires right up and runs great, and will restart with no problems. i just changerd the fuel filter and i checked the fuel pressure which was fine (55-57 lbs) so now im at a loss. any advice?

April 20, 2010that fuel pressure is a little on the low side. does it stay at that pressure for a good 10 minutes or does it drain off. that is with the engine not running. if it bleeds off, your spider injector assembly needs to be replaced. if it does stay at that pressure for at least 10 minutes, then its probably your fuel pump. those trucks are really picky with fuel pressure, should be 60-65psi.
