Horsepower is how fast you were going when you hit the wall, Torque is how far you went after you hit the wall.

March 18, 2011Transmission fluid is almost like Marvel Mystery Oil which is an old and proven additive. I remember more than 25 years ago there was this gadget on the market that was supposed to increase gas mileage and keep the engine clean at the same time. I bought one and put on a 350 Chevy. You had to put an adapter between the carburetor and the manifold. It had a hose going from the adapter to a glass jar that was mounted on the inside fender which was filled with water. I don`t remember all the details but the water started to bubble and the water vapors were sucked into the engine through the hose. I used it for a while but the gas mileage didn`t get any better. Maybe it kept things clean, I don`t know, but at the time I was looking for better gas mileage. So this is an old theory that is still hanging around. Maybe there is something to it.
