April 30, 2008every tire rotation, or evry other oil change, take oyur pick. However the tires should be rotated every other oil change too.
April 30, 2008With every oil change.
April 30, 2008I agree - with each oil change is plenty often enough.
May 1, 2008I do mine with every oil change.. but that happens to be once a month.
If you drive around short distances and therefore change your oil once every 3 months (or even longer), i'd recommend greasing them once a month instead of following your oil change schedule.
Also, depending on how you use your truck you should grease the fittings immediately following:
-Going through mud
-Driving through deep water
-Any offroading (or offroading type terrain) that jostles the suspension more severe than normal street driving.
May 1, 2008Every Oil Change - Every 5,000 miles is when I do the oil change!!!
January 29, 2011Every oil change since day one. My trucks been used as a snow plow truck for a few years, driven offroad all the time, pluss used somewhat as a work truck for our flooring company. So a lot of abuse there and i have 150,000 Miles on it and just starting to go out.. Only reason it really is, is my boots around the ball joints and CVS dried up and cracked so contamination and loss of oil got to them... been putting it off for like 2 months and still works
they would of probably lasted a lot longer if i would of adressed these issues as soon as i noticed them
January 29, 2011Agreed . Every oil change. Except with temps are below freezing. Don`t want to break the boot on the joint!!
January 29, 2011oops, i havent added grease to my fittings in 5 years.....does the grease really leak out that easily from the boots? ive never noticed any on the outside, granted it could be because theres nothing left. i did, however, go out and check all the tie rods and arms the other day as well as the ball joints and they all seem to be doing fine.
January 29, 2011lol damn 5 years?? And they shouldn`t be leaking out... you would see grease spots everywhere... even after you cleaned them they would still be there unless you use some strong degreaser.. I think my boots actually ripped/popped from to much grease being in there
January 29, 2011I do mine every other oil change
