November 16, 2007Poorboy's Super Swirl Remover. Very easy to work with and does a great job. They have different levels depending on how bad the swirls are.
November 16, 2007Everyone uses different products when it comes to detailing and I use Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Products on all of the vehicles I detail.I start with the Dual Action Cleaner Polish, followed with the Professional Swirl Remover 2.0 and the results would amaze you. I have yet to try Poorboys, due to the fact that I live in Canada and there are not many suppliers of their product in my area. The main distributon center for Meguiar's Canada is 25 minutes away from me, so the choice was easy.
Any good swirl remover will work(Meguiar's,Poorboys,Mothers, etc). You will achieve the best results with a random orbital polisher like a Porter Cable, but if you are doing it by hand you should have good results depending how deep the swirls are. Meguiar's Scratch X works very well when applied by hand.
Here's a quick before and after of a Vette that was polished by an inexperienced person with a rotary polisher and I had to fix the damage that was burned into the clearcoat.
Hood Before (Looks like there's ghost flames from the rotary polisher)
November 16, 2007The Poorboy's SSR Series is really great. I use the 2.5 and love it! Their professional polish is also a very good product. I have also used the Meguair's Scratch X that Jim mentioned and it works very well.
November 16, 2007if he is, and I think he is, talking about those harder/deeper swirls left by one of those damn drive thru car washes, it's gonna take more than the stuff in a bottle that works for taking out polishing swirls, 2 different critters
November 17, 2007I think I have a combo of the car wash and the dealer that wheeled it out looked very similar to the vet That was 2 years ago now the car wash swirls have pretty much taken over. That vet turned out real good! Hopefully my truck can look like that again Thanks for the replies
