October 22, 2007coke cleans chrome really well
October 22, 2007Thanks guys, i will look into them both right away.
October 22, 2007Coke really does work I saw it on Mythbusters and it really did a good job but you have to use tin foil with it in a ball. But if you don't want that Eagle One or something like that will work!
October 22, 2007Thanks , i will try the tin foil and coke first and than see the results,
October 22, 2007The yellowing is from the brake dust and if it has been on there a long time it may not completely come off. If none of the other ways mentioned work for you, then try some 0000 steel wool with any type of chrome polish.Once they are clean, give them a good couple of coats of wax or paint sealant and it will help keep the brake dust from staining them in the future.
These trucks are not that bad for brake dust like Mercedes and BMW's are luckily. On my Dad's Mercedes I will usually wipe down the wheels with some quick detail spray and a micro fiber towel at least once a week, so it does not have time to stain the wheels.
October 22, 2007I use mothers Metal polish (I can't remember the exact name) gets stainless back like new and aluminum.
October 24, 2007I used Meguiars Hot Rims for Chrome wheels and then after they are sprayed off I dry them with an air compressor blow nozzle and then I polish them with Mothers chrome polish and terry towells... Works like a charm everytime...
