September 28, 2005Alright I have an 00 Silvy Ext. I want about 3-6" of lift on front and back. How would I go about this? I would like to keep it cheap, and I dont care about ride stifness, so would blocks be out of the question? Let me know my options and prices.

September 29, 20053" body lift is pretty inexpensive..........
September 29, 2005I just got an RCD lift but that might not be your idea of cheap. You can get it on ebay for $1450 and it rides excellent. I couldnt be happier with it.
September 29, 2005Im talkin 3" body lift or block kit + 3/4ton torsions. Someone help me out.
September 29, 2005I would be careful of how cheap you go. Sometimes "You get what you pay for" can come back and bite you in the !! What ever you decide to do, do it right. I personaly would go with a suspension lift.
September 29, 2005For the money you want to spend, go with the body lift.
September 29, 2005I have to agree with DnDs on this one SUSPENSION, do it right. or you will get what you pay for.
September 29, 2005There's nothing wrong with body lifts. They are a safe and long term effective option for lifting. A suspension lift doesn't even provide any additional benefits over a body lift of equal size (except minor looks) on an IFS vehicle. Ground clearance is the same for both, articulation is the same...body lift is just a more affordable option for 3" or less lift.
The cheap option that would be bad is anything increasing your front drive axle angles (overcranking, keys, heavy bars).
September 29, 2005I just dont like all the cutting involved with a body lift. the new trucks with the plastic air dams, dont you have to cut them? or take it off that does not look good. dont you have to cut the fan shroud, extend everything and the motor is sunk way down in the engine compartment.it was just my opinion, dont like the look.
September 29, 2005Yeah, there is a lot of spacing involved. You have to space the lower fan shroud down and space the tow hooks up 3". I'd still consider it an easy installation. Suspension lift is definitely better looking, but there's nothing wrong with body lifts either, especially if someone is looking to save some money.
September 29, 2005If you want a good cheap lift so you could run a larger tire get a 3" BL.
