June 27, 2012Right now I have a three inch body lift on my truck and here within the next few months or so I am planning on getting a 6 inch suspension lift and having it put on. Im pretty sure that I`ve heard before that its not the best to have both kinds of lifts on at the same time. But why exactly is it not good, what will it effect or is it perfectly fine to have them both on? I am just really hoping that both will be fine because I dont really feel like and have the much extra time to take the body lift off lol.

June 27, 2012I have been running a body lift/ suspension lift for since 06. I haven`t had any issues. I wouldn`t be sure why someone would tell you its a not good to have both lifts... unless your truck is a rot box and the body is falling apart.
June 28, 2012haha alright thanks and no it is far from falling apart. but ive been looking at some suspension lifts here and there and the majority that come up say they have blocks to lift the. im about 100% sure but i just want to make sure but those blocks and the blocks for the body lift go in different spots right? then another thing im wondering about is ive seen lifts with a 1 piece sub-frame and with a 3 piece sub-frame. whats the difference and is there one thats better than the other?
July 1, 2012What year truck do you have and what lift are you looking at? Also some suspension lifts come with new rear springs arched to amount of lift you buying and others come with blocks that go between the rear axle and the rear springs. The body lift blocks go between the body and the body mounts.

its the one at the bottom of the page with nitro shocks. now im pretty sure that all the lifts that ive seen with lift blocks in the rear are a 6 inch lift in the front and 4 inches in the rear. Thats why I am leaning towards the one with new springs in the back beacuse I am wanting to get a full 6 inch lift all the way around. Another thing is when I put on my first set of 33 inch tires I cranked the torsion bars a bit to help with the tires fitting. They are far from maxed out but they have been raised. When I get the suspension lift put on shoud I have the torsion bars put back down to there stock position?
July 2, 2012Thats a pretty good lift. Make sure your wheels have the proper backspacing though. I went with the blocks on my truck, procomp lift 98. I didnt have a choice i bought mine used. I am not sure if my tbars were cranked with my 33`s and the body lift on my truck. Your gonna have the pull them out anyway to drop them lower so i would imagine returning to the stock location would help a little. Just for mind sake you know? I had to crank on mine a little bit after the lift to get a few inch on the front. But i ran PJ`s 38 15.15`s back then, true 38`s big tires
July 3, 2012Cool thats good to hear. How do I tell what backspacing my wheels have now? I have american eagle alloys. Also from what I understand putting on a lift with the new rear springs makes for a lot stiffer ride. Right now this is my daily driver untill I get an s-10 to save me some gas. But if Im going to be bouncing around a bunch I may want to go with the rear blocks instead of the springs. Do you know or have you ran across any true 6 inch lifts that have the blocks in the rear or I think I have ran across some lifts that have the blocks in the rear and also an add-a-leaf.
July 4, 2012One the eagle alloy website they have specs. I also have eagle alloys, 589 series 16x10. I believe they are 4in backspacing. As for bouncing around, its a lifted truck its not gonna ride like a caddy. I have add a leafs with my blocks, i forgot.
July 5, 2012thank you again. i have the 185 series i know they are 16 inch but idk how wide im guessing there 10 wide so on that website the column BSM im assuming is the backspacing so i have 4.25 inches backspacing. and i really didnt think about that. i guess i could look around and see if it would be cheaper and just get a lift with 6 inches in the front and 4 inch blocks in the back then just get an add-a-leaf in the rear as well to give me another 2 inches. now blackdog you got the BL and a suspension lift do you still have the factory rake if not how did you level ur truck out?

September 3, 2012the reason they say not to use both lifts is because of body roll. The suspension lift is built specific for the height you buy. So when you add another 3 inches it adds body roll. Ive had a couple trucks with both lifts and had no problems.
