September 11, 2010that sounds awsome
glad to here it running
September 11, 2010Nice set up. I just helped a friend do a similar swap to his 90 gmc. I had another 96 5.7 vortec sitting in the garage that was built up a little. we put it in his truck and he did an edelbrock complete fuel system upgrade also. It runs strong. its a 2wd. but a pretty heavy truck and runs 16.40 all day at the track. one day he`ll catch me. this is a beautiful truck. pat yourself on the back. keep us posted.
September 11, 2010slighty built 5.7 running a 16.4? My factory lifted 5.7 ran a 16.2 without lift and 16.9 with it, somethings run.
September 12, 2010thanks, well your buddys sysytem was probably just an upgrade from stock, this was a complete 1000hp fuel system, on a 600hp setup....i am hopeing for 14 sec. in the quarter..all 6000lbs of it...if i ever get to the track...thanks again
February 24, 2011haven`t done much...winter and snow....going to get the seats covered while i finish wiring in the center console and adding a knock alert and a wide band controller...i did some 40-60 hours of wiring on the center console this winter...but it is going to tke about 20hrs to get it attached to the truck
February 24, 2011hey man, thats a beautiful setup, awe inspiring. i have a similar setup im trying to run on a 98 gmc, has the gmpp ht383e and a holley multiport stealth ram. running a procharger d1sc (YEA!!!) on it too, hoping for about 10 psi. gotta question tho, if i could pick your brain, how many rib pulleys and what kinda belt are you running? and would you know where i could find a complete 8 rib pulley setup, including a/c bypass and power steering and the tensioner? any help is awesome.
i feel your pain on the waiting game, my truck has been down and out for the past year and a half trying to sort out the new injection and supercharger problems. sadly, these trucks were never meant to be forced induction and thus take a ton of time and work to make thatta way...
February 24, 2011i think if you do the 8 rib...it would be only driven by the crank....the only way to make that set up would be to have it made...in my opinion...i have not seen that setup for all the pulleys..i was thinking about upgrading to the d1sc...what the injection problem...most of mine were caused by lack of fuel and lack of tune-ablity...so i over built it...i have had my truck apart for the last 4-5 years in a row..in the winter , doing motor work....this is the first year that i was able to drive it during the winter..i am running 110.5 inch stock 6 rib belt
