April 5, 2007I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe.... Driving home from work one day my battery light came on and the voltage was slowly declining. I knew right away it was my alternator going to crap. So I got it home and pulled the alternator out and took it to a local bumper to bumper and had it tested just to confirm that it was the alternator. It was, it was only putting out about 15 amps. So I bought a new one right away and put it in. The problem i have now .... the battery light continues to flash on and off. My battery is only about 3 months old but I tested it anyways and all seems fine. Running it puts out about 14.3 volts and not running its at about 12.2. So i'm officially stumped as to what to do next. Any ideas what the problem could be? Everythings running great. Starts great. Not a single problem...except the lights on.
