February 14, 2011Sounds to me like you picked the right woman too! LOL. This is one of the coolest threads I`ve seen in a while. Brings back lots of memories for everyone I bet. I knopw it does for me and I`m only 22. I`m glad to see there`s a lot more young Chevy guys on here than I thought too. Feels good to see the tradition continuing- lots of kids getting their dads old Chevy.
February 14, 20111988chevy cheyenne 1500 4.3 liter 2wd old farm truck paid 500 for it 3 days before my 18th bday now had it almost two years and still running and drivin like new
February 14, 2011My granddad bought me an `86 Chevy SW Pickup when I was 16. I think he paid $1200. It had a 350 that ran like champ. I had it up until I was 20, I`m 22 now. Damn I miss that pickup!
February 14, 2011I think that is something we all will be saying for the rest of our lives. "damn i miss my first truck, why did i ever get rid of it..." unless of course someones first truck was a ford, than it is compeltely understandable why they got rid of it. But i am enjoying seeing that i am not the youngest one here at 21. its good to see that the younger generation isnt a bunch of kids wearing tight pants and never turning a wrench
February 14, 2011Theres a lot of those kids in AZ... im not one of them thank god. And to me i couldnt get rid of my truck unless it was something really sick for it. My life revolves around my truck its been in the family since December 01.... Im gunna try to run it to the ground then rebuild it and run it down again
February 14, 2011I`m still driving my first Chevy. 99 Z71 had 92K on it when I bought it. I actually bought it off my next door neighbor for $9000 two weeks before my 16th birthday in 2007. It took all the money I`d earned every summer since I was 9 but it was totally worth it.
February 14, 2011@ Taggie, I built a 72 vega, 2 door wagon w/ a 327 4spd after I wrecked my chevelle. I used to run it around without the exhaust and the headers dumped right at the floor and firewall crease. HOT on the feet. but a fast little hot rod.
I am also glad to see the young guys on here. I`m 44 now and have owned Chevy`s my whole life, I`ve had a few other vehicles outside of GM but only a few. I will be driving a GM product till I can`t drive anymore. I have a daughter who will be driving within the next year we are currently looking for an ext. cab S10 for her to customize as her first ride. Then I guess her next step will be joining in threads like this one. Lets keep the bowties alive.
February 14, 2011@Loki223 they guy i bought it off of worked 3 miles round trip from his house and he drove it back and forth to work every day and to haul his tractor to his son`s house what is 5 miles the other way. i just rolled the odometer over to 24,000 sunday morning
February 15, 2011@griff custom, my buddy has a standard cab he would probably be willing to sell, its a great truck, and purple if your daughter likes purple!
@black97GMC your one lucky SOB. i`d kill to have found my truck with that kind of mileage on it!
February 15, 2011I know that is why we moved on it the day we saw it and test drove it we told the lady we wanted it and handed her 200 to hold it and brought it home the next week... supposely there are 4 more with the same millage as mine floating around so i`m trying to get my hands on another for parts/play truck
